Carol Cole Czeczot was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, and lived much of her life there.
Bodysurfing at the beach, picnicking with her family under large live oaks, and canoeing cool, clear aqua springs with a friend engendered her love of nature.
Childhood vacations to the Smoky Mountains and later trips to the Boone/Blowing Rock area of western North Carolina with her husband, Mike, also nourished her spirit and imagination.
Living just north of the “Space Coast,” Carol felt connected to NASA missions, often watching rocket launches from the beach.
She earned a master’s degree in journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and returned to Daytona Beach, where she was an environment writer for the daily newspaper and met Mike.
They and their cats relocated to Black Mountain, NC, in 2010.
Carol has long loved writing, music and acting; she discovered her passion for oil painting when she began classes with renowned wildlife artist Bob Travers after moving to the mountains.
And Carol felt the best way to share her art experience was to create this website, Heaven & Earth Art (also accessible by searching for "Black Mountain Artist").
